PSA: Picture files

Just a reminder: BACKUP all those pictures on your computer. I had gotten behind and now we've lost a lot of them due to two different computer problems. Most I can find shots family members took or I have already scrapped those pics so I have them on layouts, but it won't be the same. I knew I should do it, I just didn't, So do me a favor, and yourself a favor. Get those pictures and files backed up.

Scrap Whispers Challenge 55

This week's challenge is A Novel Idea. We were asked to take a children's book and build a layout around it in some way. One of my favorite picture books is Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney. The journaling on this layout reads: Guess How Much I Love You is a wonderful book by Sam Mc Bratney and Anita Jeram that shows the love between a child and parent. No matter how much Little Nutbrown Hare shows his love, Big Nutbrown Hare love him more. Yeah, that's the case. The love of a child for a parent is doubled and returned.

Valentine's Day Cards

I'm doing a card swap with some friends. We'll each make cards for everyone else and then we'll get some wonderful cards back. The black and pink tiger striped card is going to a friend's daughter's first grade class in Utah. They're trying to get cards from all over the US, so this is one for them from Texas. I love using up my scraps this way. It's a lot of fun to match up the pieces and see the cards go together. For the left side of each card, I used my Cuttlebug to emboss and then the "love stamp" is cut and embossed with the Cuttlebug. I used VersaMagic ink to highlight the embossing. I read an article in Creating Keepsakes a while back that talked about trying pleated looks with ribbon and patterened paper. The ribbon looks good, but it is a little time comsuming to get it all looking just right. But, hey, what else would I rather do on a lazy Saturday morning?
