We spent the last week at Paisano Baptist Encampment between Alpine and Marfa, in the Davis Mountains of West Texas. It was so lovely this year! They've had a good bit of rain in the last several weeks (and a few afternoon storms while we were there) so it was green and cool (not a day over 80). Anyway, I got a few layouts done, wrote some curriculum and attended some awesome worship services. The music was incredible. Kat sang a solo in one of the choir pieces and she and Jeff were in an ensemble that did a beautiful rendition of the New 23rd Psalm acapella. Here are some shots of the area.

Karen -- loved your news and pics. What a beautiful place to reflect, rest, and worship in the presence of God! Know you guys are getting super busy with school starts and new beginnings for Kat - so excited for her! Miss you guys and glad we can stay in touch! Love ya!

ReplyDeleteSo how does that work Karen, doing upgrades? Do y'all own the cabin? Can you visit anytime you want as well as if there is a larger gathering?
ReplyDeleteWe do own the cabin, but not the land it's on. The camp owns that. The grounds are open April 15-October 15. We can go any time during that time frame and use the cabin. The water main to that part of the camp is shut off during the winter to prevent pipes freezing, so after the end of October, we can't go.
